Hello Holidays + November News

Dear Friends and Fam;

Happy Halloween! As we make our way into November, I wanted to fill you in on my whereabouts for the start of our holiday season. Here’s a snapshot of my pop-ups and trunk shows next month. All are FREE to attend:

50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Dr, San Francisco, CA 94118

3223 Grand Ave, Oakland, CA 94610
November 18, 2017 / 12PM – 5PM

200 Larkin St, San Francisco, CA 94102
November 29, 2017 / 9AM – 10AM, member preview
November 29, 2017 / 10AM – 8PM, open to public

If you’re around for the de Young and Asian Art markets, stop by and see some art while you’re there. Both have incredible exhibits on display… check them out here:

Alyce on Grand is a store that I’m very fond of; it’s operated by two lovely ladies who have great taste (they’re also huge supporters of my work, so I might be a little biased). Trunk shows here are always fun and they usually serve munchies! Side note: Next door to Alyce is a French bakery that makes amazing croissants, for those that appreciate buttery and flakey.

Since we’re nearing year end, it’s out-with-the-old-in-with-the-new-time. I’ll have an assortment of sale items on hand, plus a handful of things you haven’t seen before. Yup… I’ve been busy and a website refresh is definitely on my list for 2018.

P.S. Curious about my process? The folks at de Young were kind enough to Q&A with me, so thought I’d share:

Happy days to all and see you in November.

I hope everyone is getting outside and enjoying the heat. I’ve finally gotten the online shop updated; you’ll find must-go markdowns, reduced prices on core faves (wallets, backpacks & totes!) plus brand new additions. Click below to check it out.

This Saturday, I’ll be at Rockwall Wine Company in Alameda for a fun night time event. Come for live music, local makers and WINE! Click here for details. I’ve got one free ticket left up for grabs; email me if you’re interested.

See ya Saturday!

(by appointment)

Did you know that Alameda is home to several art galleries and artist studios?
Every 2nd Friday of the month, they open their doors and invite you to visit their space. A handful of local business participate as well, with extended hours in light of the event. This Friday, PHOENIX is hosting a night market, where resident artists + guest makers will be sharing their work.

I’m excited to say that I’m beginning my move into PHOENIX, where I’ll have my own studio. This will allow me to give you a personal look into my creative world. It’ll also alleviate the mess I’ve created at home =) Until I figure out consistent studio hours, please send me an e-mail or text if you want to drop by.

See ya Friday!

Hi Friends! I hope everyone is well. This coming July, I’ll be setting up shop at Renegade in San Francisco. Not only is this my first event since 2010, it’s the first time I’ll be sharing my complete collection. I’ll also have special limited editions and one-of-a-kind sample sales that aren’t available anywhere else. I’m a bit overwhelmed and stressed out about the prep going into this, but I’m excited about the opportunity to connect with old and new faces. I would love to see you there.

I keep my website up to date on product offerings, but If you want an in-person peek of my work at anytime, you can find select items at these locations in the Bay Area; click here for list.

Thanks and see you soon!

On point.

I’m familiar with the myth that all Chinese are good at math. So not true. I’m not embarrassed to admit that I failed high school trigonometry. I will however, pat myself on the back for being a whiz at algebra and geometry. They say creative and visual types tend to excel at geometry. I’ll drink to that. Angles and lines that form pointy shapes are cool.

Since I travel often these days, I found I needed a wallet to hold my passport and boarding passes. I took a pretty piece of camel leather that had a not so pretty marking on one end. Had to get creative somehow, so I started to doodle pointy shapes and found the diamond to be my perfect solution. It covered the mark, made a substantial foundation for a closure AND anything snake skin is awesome – in my opinion.

SONNY (named after my grandpa who saw more of the world than I ever will) is the beginning of my ‘ON POINT’ collection. What do you think…? Give me a reason to make him in more colors!
